The Modular Homes Expo 2024, an exhibition of modular and prefabricated houses in Europe, has been held in Croatia for the second year in a row at the Arena Zagreb, located at Vice Vukova Street 8, 10000 Zagreb, Croatia, under the high patronage of the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Construction, and State Property of the Republic of Croatia and the City of Zagreb.
From April 19th to 21st, 2024, the Modular Homes Expo 2024 had the opportunity to host exhibitors from Southeast Europe. The three-day cycle of the international exhibition ended with a professional panel discussion titled "Sustainable Construction" with the always intriguing theme "Turnkey Solutions." Exhibitors presented their latest products, such as mobile homes that can be used as residential or commercial spaces, or as plug & play products like prefabricated SPA cottages. They showcased innovations in ceiling and wall heating, ventilation, the use of environmentally friendly materials, and the possibility of horizontally and vertically integrating multiple units into one. Visitors had the opportunity to learn about execution possibilities, prices, materials, precision, and expertise in construction, aided by technology and CNC machines. They also discussed how to build a house that is energy-efficient, environmentally conscious, and built from fire-resistant or low-flammable materials, with earthquake resistance, explaining that wood, as a building material, is more elastic than concrete or brick and therefore more durable in case of earthquakes.
What is needed to build a low-energy prefabricated building or a family house? Visitors had the chance to learn more about building a low-energy house with energy consumption optimization and maximum use of available energy, focusing on quality insulation, high-quality windows and doors preventing heat loss and preserving energy, and how to use solar energy.
"Modular construction is the future, and there is a lot of attractive design here," said a visitor from the USA.
Besides prefabricated houses, Honan Mobile House also presented furniture, showcasing the modern Hona Lounge Chair and balcony furniture of modern design with the motto: "place of peace, joy, and well-being."
